account with in a couple of days. You will have to sign an "AS-IS Form" saying
that the room is fine the way it is.

Your housing contract starts August 18. Your rent becomes applicable as of that date. If you choose to move in early there will be a $65 per night per student fee. If you have further concerns please check with your orientation advisor.
What if I arrive after office hours?
If you arrive after hours, the On Duty Staff Member for your residence hall can give you access to your room.
The number to reach the on-duty staff member is posted on the entrance door. At the

The last day to change your meal plan without any fees is August 15.
Can I change my room?
You may submit a room change request on shop'n swap, under My Housing. You may also use the room swap search engine to find
other students with whom you may swap rooms. Even swaps (two students who agree to swap rooms) are easily processed.
In order for the swap to be processed both students involved must log into the room change request and submit an
even swap. We will not accept any room change requests after August 3. (There are no exceptions to this date.)
Please note that only graduate students can live in GLC and Crecine 2nd floor.
How will I know if I was room changed?
Your room and roommate information will appear when you log into "My Housing."
What is the likelihood of getting a room change?
You may put in a room change request, but realize for fall housing there are very few open rooms for us to change individuals into. It is even more unlikely for there to be an empty room to place two people together. Therefore, it helps if you ask your roommate to switch rooms with your friend whom you want to be your roommate. Also, you can ask your friend's roommate to switch rooms with you. (When two students want to swap rooms, this is called an even swap.)
It is unlikely a room change request will be granted before move-in. However, you still have a chance to change rooms on Open Room Change Day which is Wednesday, August 22 from 8AM to 4PM in the Student Services Building, Room 117. You will need to physically come by the Student Services Building with your Buzzcard and the person with whom you will be room changing. You may also come by to check to see if there are any vacant rooms.
What if something is wrong with my room?
(such as: needs cleaning, furniture missing or broken, bed lofting, air conditioning problem etc.)
After you arrive you can:
Submit a maintenance request on-line. From the Housing home page:
http://www.housing.gatech.edu/ choose the "Maintenance Request" link at the bottom of the page. Please give specific details of the problem to better assist us with your request. You will receive a request number that enables you to follow up on the progress of your request.
It is best to NOT RELY on any other student or staff member to submit your request. However, during opening days staff may be in the halls to provide immediate support as needed.
For more information about maintenance please read
Technically Speaking.
Bed Lofting
Do Not buy a bed loft.
No one is allowed to construct their own loft.
Most traditional and suite style beds can be set up in multiple positions.
Most apartment style beds can be set up in two ways: low and medium.
For more information on bed lofting.
What if I need help with my network or television?
Contact the Resnet Office
at 404 894-0044 or submit a
Help Request on-line.
Check the ResNet home page for times staff will be in
the buildings to help set up the connections.
