Fall Semester Assignment Priority
- Fall assignments will be made in the following order:
- Returning students who receive spaces through the Fall Sign-Up Process are assigned to their preferred location.
- Special Medical Requests
- A President Scholar whose application is submitted by May 1.
- A President Fellow whose application is submitted by June 15.
- New freshman and transfer students whose applications are submitted by May 1 are assigned to vacant spaces based on the date their application is received.
- Late or wait list applicants (by date of application).

- In the case of roommate requests, the application received on the later date determines the order in which an assignment is made for the pair. If hall preference and program preferences are not identical, the preferences from the last application received will be used when making assignments.
- Every effort will be made to make an assignment to your preferred building, but we cannot guarantee your choice.
Spring Semester Assignment Priority
Students are assigned for Spring Semester to vacancies received through cancellations; therefore a Spring Semester assignment is not guaranteed. Assignments for Spring Semester are made in the following order:
- Current residents requesting room changes and returning co-ops/study abroad students are assigned by random sort within class status if application is completed by November 13.
- Special medical request
- New students by date of application
- All students who apply after November 13 are assigned by date of application
Summer Semester Assignment Priority
Assignments for summer are made in the following order:
- Current residents requesting room changes and returning co-ops/study abroad students are assigned by random sort within class status if application is completed by April 6.
- Special medical request
- New students by date of application
- All students who apply after April 6 are assigned by date of application.
