Room Amenities (Cable TV, computers, telephones)
Each resident has their own computer network connection. In double rooms and suites, there are two telephone outlets and one cable TV jack per room. In apartments, each student bedroom has a computer network connection and cable TV jack. There is also a telephone outlet that shares the line (same telephone number) with the living room telephone outlet. In the living room of an apartment there is a cable TV jack and telephone outlet.
Cable TV-GTCN
Georgia Tech Housing provides 109 cable channels (including 7 HBO and several local origination channels) to the residence hall system. The Georgia Tech Cable Network (GTCN) administers this service and is a part of the Department of Housing. The cable fees are built into your student's rent./P>
Computer hook-up to campus network
We are proud to provide a network connection for each resident. This program is administered through Housing's ResNet Office. There is no additional fee for this service, as it is covered through student's rent fees.
Telephone system and long-distance calling
Each student room has a 404-206-xxxx telephone number provided by the Department of Housing at no extra charge. Students must provide a telephone and answering machine. This line is active upon move-in and is equipped to make on campus and local calls only. It can receive calls from anywhere. For long distance service, the student must have access to some long-distance provider or function (AT&T, Sprint, Family "800", calling card, pre-paid card, etc.).
