The Georgia Tech Cable Network (GTCN) administers this service and is a part of the Department of Housing. The cable fees are included in the student's rent.

Internet: Wired (LAN) and Wireless (LAWN) Networks

We provide one of the fastest internet connections available in the country to our residents. Each resident has access to wired ethernet in their room as well as access to a wireless network that covers most of campus including the residence halls and classrooms. This service is provided through Housing's ResNet Office. There is no additional charge for this service; it is included in the student's rent.

Telephone: System and long-distance calling

Each student room has a "shared" 404-206-xxxx telephone number provided by the Department of Housing at the time of the students check-in. Students who wish to use this service must provide their own telephone and, optionally, an answering machine. This line is active upon move-in and is operational to make on-campus (206, 894 & 385 departmental), local (404, 678 & 770) and toll free (1-800 & 1-866) no charge calls. However, this phone line will enable you to receive calls from anywhere as long as it's not a "collect" call. To dial long distance, the resident must have access to some long-distance provider or function (AT&T, Sprint, Family "800", calling card, pre-paid card, etc). Calling cards maybe purchased locally at most major stores. Features of the telephone service are: Caller ID Deluxe**, Call Waiting, 3-Way Calling and Call Forwarding. To forward calls, dial *74, wait for the dial tone, 9, then the 10-digit number where you wish to receive incoming calls. To turn off Call Forwarding, dial #74. **A Caller ID capable phone is required for this feature. The telephone line (not equipment) fees are included in the student's rent.
