The residence life staff plan activities for our students that will help them adjust to Atlanta and to Tech. Activities this year have included trips to the High Museum, hiking, Thrashers games, and a panel discussion on Current Events in October. We have had workshops on Taxes, Healthy Cooking, and How to Write Grants. We have planted trees, organized a blood drive, worked on a Habitat House and sorted food at a local food bank. We have gone to plays at the Fox Theater, movies and had pot luck dinners.
Our Hall Councils help to build community through building wide activities such as a weekly Friday Coffee hour in Hemphill or a 200+ people BBQ in GLC. While your academic department and the faculty are why you selected Tech, the social programs and activities sponsored by our staff and hall councils will be why you decide to remain living on campus in Graduate School.
